Float Choke
The Float Choke is a self-adjusting
choke designed to keep the flow on the chart and measured.
The Multi Float Choke is ideal for a plunger lift system
with velocity control problems. (This unique design
was featured in an innovation in World Oil.)
When the tubing pressure has dropped close to the flow
line or sales line pressure, the choke will spring open
to pick up that flow rate and increase the plunger travel
back to a more normal rate.
When the plunger arrives or is close to arrival, the
tubing pressure will increase and the choke will return
to the sales settings to keep the high pressure on the
chart.
The Float Choke is adjustable for the setting of the
high-pressure flow to keep it where needs to be on the
meter. This setting is a variable based upon the orifice
plate and the differential pressure of the tubing and
line.
The Multi Float Choke comes in two sizes that can be
determined by the volume of the well.
The 8201 Float Choke is a small unit that has a maximum
of 5/8" when fully open. The flow direction is
clearly marked on it and it must be connected as shown
for the flow to operate the choke.
The 8602 Float Choke is a larger version that will permit
the open flow rate to be about three times that of the
smaller 8201. This unit can be flanged.
Shipping weight, about 18 lbs.
