Regular Lubricators—2000 psi W.P.

Multi offers a variety of standard lubricators that will meet exact customer requirements for plunger lift well installation.

Multi has also manufactured many custom lubricators to solve specific customer issues, just let us know what your plunger lift system requirements are.

There are several functions the lubricator serves in its installation on the well. The list below shows the major functions.

  1. The lubricator top serves as a spring-loaded receiver for the plunger. The upward travel of the plunger is stopped in less than one foot of distance. This makes the impact area at the top of the lubricator with its shock absorbing spring vital to preserving equipment integrity.
  2. The Flow Cross includes a welded connection for the flow line to the tubing with a threaded outlet for this connection.
  3. The Beagle sensor recognizes plunger arrival at the surface and communicates that arrival to the controller.
  4. The Flow Cross contains a threaded port for a needle valve to attach a gauge or pressure sensing line for the communication of the tubing pressure to the Multi controllers.
  5. The optional plunger Trap is also attached to the Flow Cross to trap and hold the plunger at the surface upon its arrival. This allows for the inspection and replacement of the plunger.
  6. The Trap is a manually activated device that is turned into position by a threaded rod and handle. The release of the plunger is accomplished by the reversing of the handle.
  7. The Auto-Trap is a Multi exclusive that permits the trap to be opened and closed by the controller. This allows for catching the plunger and holding it for a given time and then released. This can be utilized by any Multi lubricator but is mainly used by the JetStar casing plunger.
