Lubricators
Regular
Lubricators (2000 psi W.P.)
XL Lubricators (3500 psi
W.P.)
Multi Plunger Lift Lubricators are available in two
different pressure ranges. The first is the Regular
Lubricator with a 0-2000 PSI operating pressure range.
The other is the High Pressure XL with a 0-3600 PSI
working pressure.
The Regular Lubricator is available with a built-in
flow outlet and needle valve only, or with a built-in
flow outlet, needle valve, sensor, and plunger trap.
In addition, it is available in 2” NPT or EUE
threads.
The High Pressure XL Lubricator comes in 29 different
designs with differing layouts and options. XL Lubricators
are also available in H2S and either threaded or flanged.
Both lubricators come with a top cap that is removable
to access and change the bumper spring. The addition
of the Beagle magnetic arrival sensor is highly encouraged
and compatible with both the Regular and XL Lubricators.
The major functions of Multi Lubricators are as follows:
- The lubricator top serves as a spring-loaded
receiver for the plunger, allowing the plunger to
stop within one foot of the top on its return to the
surface to protect the plunger.
- The Beagle sensor recognizes the arrival
of the plunger at the surface and communicates its
arrival to the controller.
- The flow cross includes a welded connection
for the flow line to the tubing with a threaded outlet
for this connection. The flow cross also contains
a threaded port for a needle valve to attach a gauge
or pressure sensing line for communicating tubing
pressure to the controllers.
- The optional plunger trap can also
be attached to the flow cross to trap and hold the
plunger at the surface upon its arrival. This allows
the plunger to be inspected and replaced if necessary.
- The trap is a manually activated device
that is turned into position by a threaded rod and
handle. The release of the plunger is accomplished
by reversing the handle.
- The Auto-Trap is a Multi exclusive
that permits the trap to be opened and closed by the
controller. This allows for catching the plunger and
holding it for a given time and then releasing it.
This function can be utilized by any Multi lubricator,
but is mainly used by the JetStar casing plunger.
