MAX I Series Pressure Controllers
The Max I is the first truly accurate
digital pressure controller. This unit can operate a
well by pressure and show the most minute drops and
rises in that pressure.
The Max I is the first controller to successfully operate
plunger lift wells with packers and comes with a special
option to operate wells that are not normally plunger
lift wells.
The Max I uses tubing pressure to open and close the
valve. There is a definite relationship between the
formation pressure and the optimal tubing pressure.
This relationship leads to a high level of performance
for the well.
How Max I works …
- The well must attain the exact same
tubing pressure each and every time for the motor
valve to be open. Therefore the close time is a variable
and is adjusted to whatever it takes to attain this
pressure.
- The controller contains a feature called
Plunger Fall-Back Delay, a time period that the operator
sets to allow the plunger to have time to fall to
the seating nipple.
- The operator-set pressure closes the
motor valve after the plunger arrives. The Max I does
not look for the low tubing pressure until after the
plunger is recognized by the Beagle Sensor.
- Two (2) motor valve controllers assure
the operator of a plunger arrival when possible. The
second valve is opened into a lower pressure system
to allow the plunger to overcome the flow line pressure
and arrive. (All of the high pressure has already
been sold into the gathering system.)
- The assurance that the pressure to
remove the liquid is available when the valve opens
is a great stress reliever for the producer.
- The ability to keep the compressor
on-line when the valve is closed is also available
to those operators whose wells have compression at
the location of the well. (The Max I A-B is required
for this feature with a DB program.)
- Flow time, after plunger arrival, is
increased as the well produces less liquid. It will
be able to maintain higher tubing pressure and flow
longer before it recognizes the low tubing pressure
setting.
