High pressure casing plungers have been
developed with a patent pending pressure relief
system, and have seen great success in the
Marcellus. At a fraction of the cost for a
tubing/pumpjack system, our high pressure casing
plungers are an economical and effective
choice.

Products Responds
We have all experienced a challenging environment over the last year. The focus of our newsletter is to discuss how we have responded at Multi Products. As our economy trembled over the last 18 months, the impact has been significant on natural gas prices, therefore driving major changes for our industry. In its 45 year history, Multi Products has experienced many peaks and valleys in our cyclical industry. As in many cycles, our industry artificially benefitted on the way up with a bit more growth than was justified, and we are now seeing a dramatic correction going the other way, with the fastest rig count reduction in history. This challenging environment is not unique to Multi as we regularly hear about the effects on our customers and competitors, as well. With almost a half century under our belt, we take a conservative approach and make sure that we can survive and thrive through the ups and the downs.
Over the past five years, Multi has consistently invested in its business, with new territory coverage and additional engineering resources for product development. We expanded outside of our Appalachian roots to service the Rocky Mountains, Midcontinent, San Juan Basin, and Barnett Shale regions. The current developments in the North American natural gas market have been very tricky for many of us. As our customers in the Rockies have experienced extreme low pricing for gas, they have released rigs and slowed down production. Here in the eastern market, the Marcellus Shale opportunity has been driving the re-allocation of resources from many western markets and supported an exciting new energy in our region. We have enjoyed our participation with our E&P partners in developing solutions for enhanced production in Marcellus wells. We are still very early in the development and have focused our engineering staff on new products to help develop the exciting shale opportunities throughout the US.

Multi
Products and Marcellus
Our manufacturing headquarters location has been ideal for participation since the early days of Marcellus development. Our sales and service team here in the Appalachian Basin is truly special, with a combined 100+ years of experience spread amongst a team of 8. We are excited to announce the following team line-up for our Eastern sales, service, and support:
Lindsey Nichols - Joined our team as VP Sales & Marketing earlier this year. Lindsey has over 20 years of energy industry experience, most recently heading up the production operations of Vinland Energy. Lindsey will operate from our new Southern Appalachian Regional Office in Kentucky.
Bud Doty - Bud has over 30 years of experience in the plungerlift industry and continues to actively help our customers enhance production. Bud is available to create plungerlift training course for our customers in all regions.
John Heberling - John has been promoted to lead our Marcellus sales and service team from our Indiana, PA shop. John's service team includes Mike Walker and Jeff Buterbaugh in Indiana, PA and Dink Hixon in our West Virginia location.
Service and Engineering Support - from our HQ in Millersburg, Ohio, we have three additional field support technicians. We also have our Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments, which are led by Robert McKee (ME), Dave Bordwell (EE), and Bill Price (SE).
Multi's western team is positioned in key markets to help our customers maximize efficiency in this low pricing environment.
Sid Jeffress - was recently promoted to lead our sales and service team in the Rockies from our Evans, CO shop. Sid's team includes Shaun Richardson in Evans and recently hired Gabe Heil in our Grand Junction office.
Jeff Miller - from Jeff's Midland location, he covers the Permian Basin for sales and service and also supports our casing plunger program nationwide.
Although our industry has seen a slowdown, Multi has actually improved its market coverage and internal technical capabilities. Our team has been built with a long term perspective. We know that our customers still need our support and service now more than ever.

Products Plungers for Horizontal
Wells |
|
Casing Brush QT Plunger (shown
with Standing Valve)
The success of the Marcellus Horizontal wells has brought with it a unique need for a plunger that will operate in a high volume environment and will extend into the curvature of the well. Multi's engineering staff in collaboration with some of our customer's engineers has met the challenge with the successful development of our QT (Quick Travel) high flow plunger line. The QT Plunger is designed to allow the well to continuously produce, reducing or eliminating the need for shut in time in some cases. The unique design of the Multi QT plunger opens and closes a bypass valve, letting the plunger fall against flow making more runs per day with faster fall times. This design along with the use of a nylon brush as a seal reduces friction and allows the plunger to reach further into the curvature of the horizontal section making the product much more efficient. We offer this unique design in multiple sizes for both tubing and casing only applications.
